Artist ~ Author ~ Adventurer

Martha Jane Bonine’s fascination with penguins began in fourth grade when she wrote a science report about Adelie penguins. Motivated to see penguins in their native habitat, she visited Antarctica in December 2024. Observing their playful antics sparked the idea for A Magical Summer Day.
Discovering, learning, and being curious about the world around her led Martha to become an elementary educator. Though she is no longer in the classroom, she continues to be an advocate for children and their families.
Martha is an Antarctic Ambassador, giving presentations to senior citizens, civic clubs, and elementary students. Currently, she lives in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she also pursues her interests in photography, flower gardens, travel and volunteers for Explorers’ Parent/Teacher Organization at Lewis & Clark Elementary.
